Baraka Living is Edmonton's first halal, riba-free seniors village. It will have 60 units (36 assisted living + 24 extended care) with a prayer hall, wudu areas, halal kitchen, and 24/7 nursing care. It is structured as a permanent Waqf (endowment).
Muslim seniors aged 55+ who wish to live in a dignified, culturally appropriate environment that respects their faith. We welcome both individuals and couples.
We are in the process of finalizing a 5-7 acre site in west Edmonton. Site visits are available by appointment.
Construction is planned for 2027-2028, with the first residents moving in Q1 2029.
Baraka Living is 100% community-funded with zero bank debt. Funding comes from three sources: Founders Club (life lease purchases), LP investors (Diminishing Musharaka partnership), and government grants.
An exclusive group of families who secure their unit early at a discounted price ($125,000-$175,000) and receive permanent recognition on the Founders Wall.
Yes. If your circumstances change before construction begins, you may request a full refund. After construction begins, our refund policy follows the terms of the Life Lease Agreement.
Yes. We offer a Diminishing Musharaka partnership with a 6% preferred return. LP units are $1.785M (half and quarter units available). Contact us for details.
If you choose to make a charitable donation, yes – tax receipts are issued through Islamic Missionary Association (IMA) if not with one of the non profit entities. If you purchase a life lease or invest in the partnership, those are not donations and do not receive tax receipts.
Yes. We have a Shariah advisory board composed of respected scholars. All financial structures are reviewed and approved to ensure zero Riba (interest), zero Gharar (excessive uncertainty), and zero Maysir (speculation).
